About Neumatics

Neumatics is an EU-native platform for consented, longitudinal behavioural data — and the products that ride on top: psychometric inference APIs, research datasets, and cultural-fit and matching surfaces. SoulMap is the consumer module: a 60-second daily self-discovery game whose forced-choice responses, scored against ten of the most-studied psychometric instruments in the world, produce the dataset Neumatics sells.

The model is a trojan horse done honestly: the user gets a self-discovery product they actually want to engage with; we get a calibrated, longitudinal trace; the buyer gets a defensible, EU-compliant data layer. Royalties from every consented sale settle back to the user's wallet.


The problem we are addressing

Behavioural data is the rate-limiter for every field that depends on understanding humans — psychology, behavioural economics, healthcare, AI alignment, market research. Three structural constraints hold the supply side back:

  1. Survey fatigue. Self-report Likert questionnaires are cheap to field but produce noisy, biased data. The replication crisis is, at root, a data-quality problem.
  2. Compliance gravity. GDPR, the EU AI Act, and the Data Act have tightened consent, lineage, and transparency. Legacy panel providers are architected for a pre-GDPR world and will retrofit slowly.
  3. Recruit-once economics. Every study starts from zero. There is no compounding behavioural asset that researchers can segment and re-query over time.

Meanwhile, the consumer side of personality tech is a wasteland of pseudo-science with no validity, no consent hygiene, and no path to legitimate scientific use.

The science and the architecture, in receipts

We publish what we measure and how we measure it. The four corners of the open documentation:

  • The science — How we map 29 trait dimensions using ten of the most-studied questionnaires in psychology — without the questionnaires. IRT, calibrated personas, measurement invariance, the validation receipts.
  • Cloud infrastructure — Architecture, operations, cost engineering. The receipts are gated; the design is open.
  • Technical reports — Dataset design, sampler validation, FinOps, robustness audits, implementation audit.
  • API methodology — Reliability metadata, state-trait decomposition, invariance as a release gate.
